About Dutywire

Created by an active New Jersey police officer, union leader, military veteran, husband, and father, DutyWire was developed with a clear understanding of the challenges that come with nontraditional schedules. For those working rotating shifts—days, swings, mids, overtime, and changing assignments—most calendars and productivity tools are not built to support the realities of shift work.

Police officers, firefighters, nurses, EMTs, and other shift workers often rely on a mix of paper calendars, shared messages, and multiple disconnected platforms to manage their schedules and daily lives.

DutyWire was created to bring the most important parts of that lifestyle into one place, including scheduling, fitness, budgeting, recordkeeping, and access to profession-related information.

With tools for instant shift generation, rotating schedule management, income and workout tracking, document storage, and real-time updates through DutyWire Information HQ, DutyWire is built to help first responders, shift workers, and their families stay informed, organized, and better prepared for the demands of everyday life. After years of development, DutyWire is now available.

Stop typing each workday in your calendar. Use DutyWire to add your schedule at once. Create a template like “Work”, “Day Shift”, “Midnights”, and pick multiple days, set a weekly repeat, or choose from preset shift patterns like Pitman, 4/3, 4/4. If your pattern isn't available, select “Custom” in Rotation Pattern and enter the numbers below.

The display includes icons for navigation at the bottom, like Home, Calendar, Info HQ, Fitness, and Profile.

CAN I SHARE & LINK A CALENDAR?

YES, and Dutywire is different from other calendar apps because it's specifically designed for First Responders and Shift Work. When signing up, you'll get your own non-shareable “MY CALENDAR" for personal use. You can also create up to 5 shareable calendars for managing family, friends, or team schedules. Just press the calendars button, create a shareable calendar, and follow the steps. You can customize calendars with profiles and colors to filter events and identify their purpose.

INCOME & BUDGETING TOOLS

Put away the calculator. DutyWire's budgeting section allows you to calculate and track your monthly pay, Overtime, and Side-Jobs. Plan ahead to see how much you need. Use the expenses section to monitor outgoing money, and the monthly snapshot to see what's left to set goals like paying off debt or saving for a vacation.

FITNESS & WORKOUTS

Develop a personalized workout schedule tailored to your shift pattern. Easily modify your plan, stay committed, and monitor your progress with the workout scheduler.

DUTYWIRE HQ

A key feature of DutyWire that clearly differentiates it from other apps is its access to real-world information. Users can stay informed about case law updates, labor and union tips, training content, and general insights delivered directly from first responders and union members in the field.

PAPERLESS RECORD FILING

Files get lost in chaos, whether stored electronically or in physical folders. Life's elements can cause important info to be misplaced. Dutywire provides a space to store documents, mainly for quick access to job-related records like certifications and training, reducing reliance on outdated paper copies or lost paperwork at home.
